One of my favorites is to converse with an over-the-top elitist and tell them about how I used to chew tobacco, when I called the police to report my car stolen but I parked it at Key Bank and not Wells Fargo, spending time in jail (RCW 79A.05), being on the FBI watchlist, etc.But mostly, I like helping people and proving my nieces wrong.

Vision for SC Role
The Fit: I fit in as a pragmatic, community-grounded program leader who speaks the language of regular humans, green humans, and policymakers.1. Learn to crush this role2. Tether existing relationships3. Field & Operational Grounding:
Paper v Reality4. Civic & Advisory Board Insight:
Hosted countless board meetings; two terms on CDAB exposed the gritty policymaking process for urban planning, affordable housing needs, and public decision-making in Bellingham.5. Experience to Sustainable Connections:
Hands-on property management experience for immediate rapport when consulting with local stakeholders.6. Turnkey Program Execution:
Experience taking an idea from concept and pitch to structured execution, partnership mapping, and monetization strategies.6. Experience from the 1900s that may still hold merit.7. Moving Forward:
First 90 Days: Master existing Green Building Program deliverables (e.g., Green Home Tour, Green Building Slam, Energy Club), build relationships with current members, builders, and municipal partners, and establish core trust within the team.6 to 12 Months: Identify gaps where green building meets public infrastructure and community access. Introduce BASE.Long-Term: Have a work family and secure regional agency alignment (e.g., WTA, City of Bellingham).
